The Cecilia Davidson Memorial Scholarship for Nursing and Healthcare
Cecilia was the daughter of Dan and Margot Davidson. After completing high school, Cecilia gained her CNA certificate and worked in both skilled nursing and in the care for the elderly. She attended Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA and graduated with a B.A. in liberal arts in 2020. After graduation, Cecilia was admitted to Baldwin Wallace University’s accelerated nursing program and earned a B.S. in nursing. Throughout her years at Thomas Aquinas College and at Baldwin Wallace, Cecilia worked as a nurse’s assistant and in home health care. Just as she was on the verge of graduating from BW, Cecilia died in a drowning accident while swimming in Lake Erie with friends on September 17, 2021. She was a loving, kind, thoughtful, and hardworking young lady who loved to cook, sew, garden, tease her brothers, and take care of her parents. She had a quick wit, a kind heart, and great compassion for the patients she served.
The recipient of this scholarship should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a cheerful disposition, and commitment to helping friends, family, the sick and the aged. This person should be interested in pursuing a career in nursing or generally in healthcare. A love of caring for elderly patients and financial need will also be considered.
