Important Information RE: Samson Fluck

Dear Honesdale High School Students, Parents and Guardians,

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Sophomore Samson Fluck passed away early this morning due to illness.

We recognize how devastating this news is for our students, teachers, and entire school community. We are currently collaborating with our Crisis Response Team to develop a plan to offer supports for our students and staff in the coming days and weeks. Therefore, our counselors will be available today, Sunday November 6th, from 1pm-4pm for any high school students who are need of immediate counseling services. Additionally, our full counseling and crisis counseling staff will be available tomorrow and throughout the weeks ahead to ensure all students are fully supported through this very difficult time.As students enter homeroom tomorrow morning, they will be provided with more specific information as to how and where to utilize these services throughout the school day.Additionally, any student who is not present in school, can call 570-253-2046 or email their guidance counselor to schedule a time to talk over the phone. Also, please take note of the Wayne County Crisis Hotline (call 1-833-557-3224 or text #63288) in case of any needs that may arise as a result of this tragic loss.

Additionally, below are some recommended links/resources that may be helpful to parents/guardians in supporting your child during the grieving process.

Our condolences go out to all of Samson’s family and friends.
